Methodology

How I review & score the Lush lineup

Every verdict on this site is built the same way. Here's the exact pipeline — what I gather, how I weigh it, and the line I won't cross.

Let's be honest about what this is. I'm Victoria Andersen — a real person, not a lab and not an "editorial team." I don't have a soundproof booth or a calibrated dB meter, so I don't claim to physically bench-test these toys. What I do is slower and, I'd argue, more useful for a buying decision: I hand-compile Lovense's published specs, synthesise what hundreds of verified buyers actually report, and compare all three Lush models side by side — and I label which is which on every page.

The pipeline behind every verdict

Four steps, same order, every time.

1
Manufacturer-rated

Pull the published specs

Motor RPM, battery range, charge time, Bluetooth version, IPX rating, dimensions and weight come straight from Lovense's official product pages and support docs. These are treated as ground truth and always labelled "rated."

2
Verified-buyer consensus

Read & aggregate hundreds of owner reviews

The real-world stuff specs can't tell you — does it actually stay quiet under clothing, does the battery survive a long session, how's the app in practice — comes from reading verified-purchaser reviews on lovense.com plus high-signal community threads. I report recurring patterns across many owners, never a single anecdote.

3
Cross-model

Compare all three side by side

Because I track only the Lush 4, Lush 3 and Lush Mini, every "stronger / quieter / better value" call is a relative judgement across the lineup — explained, so you can disagree with my weighting if your priorities differ.

4
My opinion, labelled

Score, then write the verdict

I apply the rubric below, then write a plain-English verdict that includes who should skip a model or buy the cheaper one. The score is my weighting of the evidence for a typical buyer — an opinion, not a measurement.

How I score

Six factors, weighted for how people actually use a wearable.

FactorWhat it capturesWeight
Motor powerRated RPM + owner-reported strength/character25%
NoiseRated dB + how discreet owners find it in real use20%
BatteryRated runtime + charge speed vs real-session reports15%
ConnectivityBluetooth version/range, app stability, cam integration15%
Design & comfortSize, weight, materials, fit feedback from owners15%
ValueWhat you get for the price vs the rest of the lineup10%

What I will & won't do

✓ I will

  • Label every figure as a Lovense rating or owner consensus
  • Recommend the cheaper Lush 3 when it's the better fit — even though it pays me less
  • Tell you who should not buy a given model
  • Update pages when specs change or new owner data emerges

✕ I won't

  • Invent lab measurements I didn't take, or pass off a rating as my own test
  • Take free units or sponsorship in exchange for a score
  • Inflate a verdict to push the higher commission
  • Pad pages with filler to chase keywords

Affiliate disclosure

How the money works, plainly: the "Buy" links go to Lovense's official store through my affiliate link. If you purchase, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you — that's what keeps the site running. It does not change my scores or which model I recommend; the Lush 3 earns me less than the Lush 4, and I still point budget buyers to it whenever it's the smarter call.
